Bed Bugs Bites; Learn how to handle it
It is very difficult that you feel anything while a bedbug is biting you (as the bed bug releases an anesthetic when it bites) You may not believe this but the bed bugs can be feeding on you for up to 15 minutes!!!. For this reason, the bed bug’s infestations can go unnoticed for a long time. Many people experience mild to zero reactions to bed bug bites, and have no idea that they are feeding dozens to hundreds of bed bugs. Some recent informal studies have found that less than 50% of the people showed any noticeable reaction to bed bug’s bites. The bites may be itchy or cause a burning sensation. Profusely scratching these bites can cause them to bleed or worse, get infected. In most of the cases, multiple bites may appear in a line or cluster in a small area of your body. In most cases symptoms occur more or less immediately after the bite, but they can develop or progress over the following days (up to 14 days) as well. Without further irritation, symptoms typically resolve after a week or so.
While fairly rare, some people have or develop severe reactions and symptoms from bed bug bites. Serious symptoms that require medical attention include:
- Difficult breathing
- Blisters
- Fever
- Feeling nauseous
- Swollen Tongue
- Irregular heartbeat
Bed bugs can bite anywhere on the body where there is skin. Typically, bites tend to occur on areas exposed during sleeping, such as:
- Neck
- Face
- Hands
- Shoulders
- Arms
- Legs
Bedbugs do not feed every night and can starve for several nights at a time. Because of this, often bedbug infestations are not noticed until the problem gets out of hand. Some people report that the use of antihistamines help them handle the suffering from bed bugs bites
